The Prince of Goldsmiths: Buccellati’s retrospective opens in Venice

Hosted at Officine 800 on Venice’s Giudecca Island from 18 April to 18 June 2024, The Prince of Goldsmiths. Rediscovering the Classics is a major retrospective celebrating Buccellati’s history, craftsmanship and artistry. Conceived and realised by Balich Wonder Studio in collaboration with KARMACHINA, and curated for jewellery and silverware by Alba Cappellieri, the exhibition intertwines the Maison’s creations with Italian classical art across four immersive rooms, guided by the iconic Buccellati Venice Butterfly, symbol of beauty and generational legacy.

Multi-screen video projections, 360° displays and animated graphics bring jewellery and silver masterpieces to life, as arches, columns and mirrored installations guide visitors through a dynamic space blending classical references with cutting-edge technology. Each room unfolds a chapter of Buccellati’s legacy — delicate sketches, silver masterpieces and iconic jewellery animated and contextualised against Renaissance art, geometry and literature — enriched by original sound design and interactive elements that celebrate the Maison’s timeless elegance and craftsmanship.
