Vincent van Gogh. Pittore colto
#Art
For the exhibition Vincent van Gogh: An Enlightened Painter at MUDEC in Milan, produced by 24 ORE Cultura in collaboration with the Kröller-Müller Museum, KARMACHINA created an immersive video installation. The experience invites visitors to explore Van Gogh’s universe of literary and artistic inspirations, offering a unique glimpse into the mind of the Dutch master.
The exhibition features a large-scale immersive projection composed of open books that draw visitors into Van Gogh’s world. Digital animation brings together hundreds of sources—illustrations, prints, preparatory sketches—creating a continuously evolving visual flow. Visitors are enveloped in a dynamic space where imagery, light, and sound interact to immerse them in the artist’s creative process.
The narrative is guided by Van Gogh’s own thoughts, drawn from his letters and voiced by Jonathan Lazzini. Works, sketches, and reproductions are interwoven with literary references, while an original soundtrack by Alberto Modignani enhances the emotional and sensory experience, highlighting the depth, curiosity, and relentless experimentation that defined Van Gogh’s brief but prolific life.
