Bergamo in sul monte
#Culture
The new Museo delle Mura in Bergamo transforms storytelling into experience. At the heart of the visit, a multimedia installation guides visitors through the creation of the Venetian walls, a stone diamond of history and beauty that remains a symbol of the city. Physical artefacts complement the installation, blending historical narrative with immersive design.
Housed within Porta Sant’Agostino, the installation uses large projection screens echoing the arches of the city gates. Moving images transform these abstract backdrops into windows onto history, animating the story of Italian wars, key figures, innovations, and the centuries-long construction, enveloping visitors in an immersive audiovisual experience.
Over 150 images and documents from 30+ archives—including maps, paintings, drawings, and aerial footage—form the narrative thread. Graphic lines and compositional elements unify the diverse materials, while Emiliano Bagnato’s soundtrack blends original music and sound design inspired by Renaissance sounds, enhancing the immersive storytelling and visual coherence.
