Monet: I Can See the Lights opens near Tokyo

Opening 20 July at the Kadokawa Culture Museum in Tokorozawa, just outside Tokyo, a new immersive environment dedicated to Claude Monet translates the artist’s vision into light, movement and emotion, revealing memory as a living, sensory experience. Created by KARMACHINA under the artistic direction of Gianfranco Iannuzzi, the experience is part of Monet: I Can See the Lights – An Immersive Journey, marking the 150th anniversary of the first Impressionist exhibition, and will remain on view through 19 January 2025.

Large-scale projections and music invite visitors into Monet’s world, offering a contemplative, sensorial reinterpretation of his legacy across thirteen thematic chapters — from Impression, Sunrise to Giverny and the Water Lilies. Digital animation brings paintings by Monet and his contemporaries to life, while an original soundtrack evokes the atmosphere of each place and moment, guiding visitors through an emotional, poetic journey.
