From 24 June to 2 July 2023, the Innovation Village inside Ocean Live Park in Genoa hosts a huge multimedia wave celebrating the richness of the sea and its inhabitants — an immersive journey into the Ligurian Sea combining 3D animation, soundscapes and marine habitats for a captivating underwater experience. Conceived and realised by KARMACHINA in collaboration with D&D International Group, the installation was staged on the occasion of the eagerly awaited sporting event The Ocean Race Genova – The Grand Finale offering visitors an emotional dive into the sea alongside the most innovative solutions in the Blue Economy and sport.
The 15-minute experience transports visitors through Ligurian marine habitats, from Posidonia seagrass meadows to deep-sea environments, where meticulous 3D modelling and animation bring fish, sharks, groupers, whales and the iconic Christ of the Abyss statue to life. An original soundtrack by Fernweh, derived from sea sounds, accompanies the flow of images, guiding visitors through a narrative of discovery, wonder and awareness of marine biodiversity.
