Torino città dinamica. Video Percorsi Narrativi – Due secoli d’arte in città
#Art
During the 2022–2023 holiday season, Torino Città Dinamica. Video Percorsi Narrativi – Due secoli d’arte in città brought Turin’s artistic heritage to Piazza San Carlo. Produced by KARMACHINA with 24 ORE Cultura and Fondazione per la Cultura Torino, the show projected around 70 artworks from modern and contemporary collections onto the historic facades, creating a spectacular public narrative journey.
The video mapping unfolded in a prologue and three acts across the west-facing buildings of Piazza San Carlo. Large-scale projections, combined with dynamic sound, transformed architectural surfaces into immersive stages. Viewers experienced a temporal journey, from 18th-century cityscapes to Futurist experiments, as colour, shape, and depth merged in a multisensory narrative across the urban space.
The narrative traces Turin’s evolution from aristocratic society to modernity. Portraits and cityscapes give way to photography and Futurist playfulness, culminating in abstract, polyphonic compositions inspired by Giacomo Balla. Original soundtracks by Alberto Modignani recreate the eras’ melodies, intertwining images and music into a dynamic audiovisual performance that celebrates the city’s artistic heritage through a contemporary lens.
