Lvni Experience
#Culture
Lvni Experience brings the ancient Roman city of Luni to life, from its foundation to its gradual decline. Developed with SALT, the project transforms the tunnel connecting the A12 motorway to the archaeological site into an immersive passage, inviting travellers to discover Luni’s heritage through evocative visuals and sound.
The tunnel becomes a fully immersive environment where KARMACHINA’s large-scale projections animate Roman artefacts and archaeological finds. A carefully designed soundscape by Fernweh, blending original music and contemporary reinterpretations of ancient melodies, envelops visitors, creating a multisensory experience that connects architecture, history, and imagination.
Lvni Experience narrates the city’s story through visuals and music, avoiding didactic explanations. Roman relics, historical documents, and symbolic elements are reimagined and animated to convey the city’s splendour and decline, evoking Dante’s “splendida civitas lunensis” with a poetic and atmospheric language that bridges past and present.
