Morricone’s Suite
#Culture
Morricone’s Suite is an audiovisual installation celebrating Ennio Morricone’s genius and his contribution to cinema. Presented at the Premios Princesa de Asturias 2020 in Oviedo, the installation interprets his soundtracks through four movements—duel, seduction, fear, and art—highlighting the archetypal emotions that define storytelling across genres and eras.
Each movement reflects a musical archetype: duels evoke the epic tension of westerns, seduction explores passion and youthful desire, fear amplifies suspense and horror, and art celebrates cinema’s performative power. KARMACHINA translates Morricone’s melodies into visual motifs, while sound designer Alberto Modignani reinterprets the original music, blending iconic film imagery with abstract, symbolic visuals that highlight both the timeless and contemporary aspects of his creative legacy.
