HZERO
#Culture
HZERO, a unique museum in Florence, centres around one of Europe’s largest miniature railway models, spanning 280 m². KARMACHINA, in collaboration with curator Alberto Salvadori, designed a multimedia projection system that interprets the model’s details through illustration and motion graphics, creating a poetic choreography of light, sound, and digital storytelling.
Visitors experience a 35-minute journey through time and space, following landscapes, characters, and seasonal cycles within the model. Video projections animate the miniature world across four seasons and daily moments, while lighting by Angelo Linzalata and soundscapes by Tempo Reale enhance the immersive environment, blending handcrafted artistry with digital media.
The visual narrative emphasises the model’s intricate craftsmanship, with digitally animated landscapes and characters echoing the hand-made details of the railway. Each scene offers glimpses of miniature life, telling small, poetic stories within the larger world, while synchronised sound and motion graphics guide visitors through a vivid, immersive exploration of HZERO’s imaginative universe.
