The Beloved of Isis. Nero, the Domus Aurea and Egypt
#Culture
The Beloved of Isis: Nero, the Domus Aurea, and Egypt is hosted at Rome’s Domus Aurea. Produced by the Parco archeologico del Colosseo, the exhibition explores Nero’s relationship with Egypt and the East, offering the public new and evocative perspectives on ancient Roman history.
The exhibition unfolds through the richly decorated halls of the Domus Aurea. KARMACHINA’s multimedia installations animate entrances and walls, creating immersive audiovisual experiences. Visitors encounter layered projections, original voice readings, and a large-scale video of Alexandria, bringing architecture, reliefs, and historical spaces vividly to life.
In the octagonal hall, immersive projections recreate Egyptian sites such as Philae and Dendera. Visitors take an “archaeological walk” through virtual reconstructions by Altair4 Multimedia, culminating in a projection of the Philae temple relief, depicting Emperor Nero presenting gifts to the Egyptian pantheon, blending archaeology, history, and digital storytelling in a rich narrative tapestry.
