“Looking for Monna Lisa: Monna Lisa Who?” opens in Pavia

KARMACHINA presents “Monna Lisa Who?”, on view from November 24, 2019 to March 29, 2020 in Pavia as part of the exhibition “Looking for Monna Lisa. Misteri e ironie attorno alla più celebre icona pop,” a project by the Comune di Pavia with the support of Fondazione Banca del Monte di Lombardia. The narrative environment reinterprets the space of the Church of Santa Maria Gualtieri in a quest for the identity of the world’s most famous portrait, immersing visitors in a journey through the many faces of the Mona Lisa.

The image of the Louvre Gioconda, other versions of the Mona Lisa, and Leonardo’s drawings are animated and digitally reworked, paired with sound by Alberto Modignani and narration set within an installation design by Studio Dune. Together they find a perfect balance with the church’s vertical structure, symmetry and soft lines, accompanying visitors through an immersive experience in search of an answer to the exhibition’s central question: Mona Lisa, who?
